Engine Lane

Nailsea Town Council voted to sell the land to the West of Engine Lane to for development in 2016.  A planning application (17/P/1250/F) was then submitted to North Somerset Council for 183 dwellings.

North Somerset Council granted planning permission in December 2017, subject to several conditions. The two most significant are that National Grid must be allowed to underground a large electricity cable across and down the side of the site, and the newly allocated sports practice pitches must be playable, both before building begins. The Town Council hopes that the former will take place during 2019 with the building development beginning before Christmas. There have, however, been delays, and some with knowledge of what is discussed on the Council suggest that house building may not take place until at least 2021.
